A Look at Local Leaders: A QCLA Spotlight on Amber Wood

Today we hear from 2016 Quad City Leadership Academy graduate, Amber Wood. Hear how QCLA impacted her life, personally and professionally!

QCLA provided tools, resources, supports, and an expanded network for tremendous growth – personally and professionally. This program provided insights on the journey of leadership through the examples of top leaders all around us.

Where were you when you started QCLA and where are you now?

I was the Executive Director with the American Red Cross serving the Quad Cities and West Central Illinois. I am now with OSF HealthCare as a Community Relations Specialist at OSF Holy Family Medical Center.

How did your QCLA experience impact you?

QCLA provided tools, resources, supports, and an expanded network for tremendous growth – personally and professionally. This program provided insights on the journey of leadership through the examples of top leaders all around us. These community leaders offered valuable tools and insights on their personal journeys, lessons learned, trials and tribulations. As well as an opportunity to build a network of peers and community leaders with whom to stay connected – no matter what the future holds. I felt that this program provided a great opportunity to take time to really pause and reflect on who I am, how I want to lead, identify my strengths, and build a plan to work toward developing my leadership skills in such a way to help me met my goals and lead the others around me with my heart.

Why would you encourage someone to sign up for this program?

You should sign up for this program to learn more about yourself so you can be the best version of you – in leadership and in life – present and future! Programs like this lead you to success in life – both personally in knowing and defining who you are and want to be – as well as professionally to deliver your job as a high performing member of your team! Not to mention – you have the opportunity to work with and get to know Ginny, Shari & Amy

Thank you, Amber, for sharing your experience with the Quad City Leadership Academy! Want to know more about QCLA or sign up? Call the Marketing Office at 563-359-1099.
