A Look At Local Leaders: A QCLA Spotlight Featuring Beth Grabin

Beth Grabin, QCR Holdings, is our local leader spotlight this week. Read about how the Quad City Leadership Academy shaped her as a leader, personally and professionally, below!

“It’s a great way to learn about yourself and learn about why others might act the way they do.  It’s also a great way to learn more about our wonderful community and the leaders that drive our community’s success.”

Where were you when you started QCLA and where are you now?

When I started the QCLA, I had just started a new role within my Company.  I was in a new leadership position and was still defining what my leadership style looked like.  Since then, I have become more confident in my leadership skills and have also become more self-aware of my strengths, as well as how to best apply those strengths in our organization.  I’ve also used many of the skills I learned in the QCLA to help with the development of my team.

How did your QCLA experience impact you?

My QCLA experience helped me better define my leadership style, while also building my self-awareness and emotional intelligence.

Why would you encourage someone to sign up for this program?

I have encouraged all of my direct reports and others our organization to sign up for this program because it’s a valuable tool to use for current and future leaders as they continue to develop.  It’s a great way to learn about yourself and learn about why others might act the way they do.  It’s also a great way to learn more about our wonderful community and the leaders that drive our community’s success.
